Overview

Project Overview

You will be working on a major regeneration scheme focused on restoring historic infrastructure while incorporating modern architecture and urban design. The project will involve:

  • Demolition of existing structures
  • Construction of in-situ reinforced concrete frames
  • Restoration and refurbishment of listed and historic features
  • Highway and roadworks
  • Service diversions and upgrades
  • Public realm enhancements
  • Architectural, mechanical, and electrical works for both external and internal fit-outs

Responsibilities

In the role of Site Agent, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Site Manager to ensure the seamless delivery of critical project phases leading to timely completion. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and managing the on-site project team.
  • Coordinating and overseeing subcontractors to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Assisting with design implementation and ensuring work adheres to the engineered specifications.
  • Developing, monitoring, and managing construction methodologies and short-term project timelines.
  • Ensuring site operations are efficient, organized, and aligned with overall project goals.
  • Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health & safety, quality assurance, and industry compliance.
  • Acting as a key point of communication between the site team and other stakeholders.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks, resolving on-site issues, and ensuring the project is delivered on-time and to budget.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional quality in construction projects. Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • Proven experience in a Site Agent role or similar, ideally within regeneration, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of health & safety practices and compliance requirements within the construction industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, site management, and project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster healthy collaboration in a diverse team environment.
  • Proficiency in construction project management software and tools.

Day-to-Day

In this role, your day-to-day activities will vary depending on the project phase but may include the following:

  • Leading daily site briefings and addressing project priorities with the team.
  • Monitoring site activities, ensuring that subcontractors adhere to schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Reviewing progress against project timelines and preparing reports for stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with the design teams to address technical, engineering, or logistical challenges.
  • Conducting site inspections to enforce adherence to health & safety standards.
  • Coordinating material deliveries and equipment to maintain the project's flow.
  • Problem-solving unforeseen challenges and implementing timely solutions.
  • Driving a positive and inclusive culture within the project team, fostering collaboration and engagement.
