Responsibilities

As Site Foreman, you will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day site operations to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and supervising all construction activities across residential developments.
  • Managing and coordinating subcontractors, direct labor, plant, and materials to ensure a streamlined workflow.
  • Ensuring construction works are carried out according to project timelines, technical drawings, specifications, and Irish Building Regulations.
  • Monitoring progress to identify delays and implementing solutions to maintain project schedules.
  • Upholding high health, safety, and environmental compliance across the site.
  • Delivering toolbox talks, safety briefings, and ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • Collaborating with project team members, including the Site Manager, Project Manager, Site Engineer, and Contracts Manager, to align priorities.
  • Conducting quality inspections and addressing any issues or defects promptly.
  • Managing site logistics, including coordinating deliveries, plant, and equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Maintaining accurate records, including daily site diaries, progress reports, and health and safety documentation.
  • Assisting with project planning and short-term programming of works.
  • Proactively resolving on-site issues to prevent project disruptions.
  • Establishing and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient site workspace.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will bring the following skills, experience, and attributes:

  • Proven experience as a Site Foreman on residential construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, sequencing, and operations.
  • Experience effectively managing subcontractors, direct labor, and simultaneous work activities.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Problem-solving expertise with the confidence to make swift, informed decisions on site.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Irish Building Regulations and construction best practices.
  • Safe Pass certification and Manual Handling certification.
  • Full, clean driving license.

Day-to-day Activities

Your typical schedule will involve:

  • Supervising, planning, and coordinating daily construction activities.
  • Leading morning briefings and toolbox talks with site personnel.
  • Evaluating daily progress and implementing solutions to meet project milestones.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Collaborating closely with other team members and stakeholders to address priorities and challenges.
  • Resolving site issues and facilitating smooth project delivery.
  • Documenting project progress and maintaining all necessary records.
  • Conducting inspections and ensuring defect-free delivery of work.
