Responsibilities
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial and commercial success of our civil engineering projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the commercial aspects of civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Overseeing contracts under NEC Option A and B frameworks on a major energy scheme.
- Preparing and delivering accurate cost forecasts, valuations, and financial reports.
- Supporting project teams in procurement, risk management, and providing contractual advice.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Ensuring all work is conducted to the highest standard and in compliance with relevant regulations.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- Proven experience in civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC Option A and/or B contracts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related commercial software.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
- The ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic team, while managing independent responsibilities.
Day-to-Day
Here’s what a typical day as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with us may look like:
- Conducting site visits to oversee and assess project progress.
- Liaising with project managers and engineers to ensure adherence to budgets and schedules.
- Preparing financial and contractual documentation, including valuations and cost analysis.
- Hosting collaborative meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss risk management and contract agreements.
- Monitoring project performance and regularly reporting on cost forecasts and financial health.
- Contributing ideas for improving processes and value engineering.
